Information for prospective graduate studies applicants

Admissions for 2009 Autumn entry into the Psychology Graduate Program is now open.

If you have started an application before September 5, 2008, you may need to start a new application. See more information below.

The application is updated annually, and is ready for use by mid-September. If you have started your application before our updates are made for this year, please check to see if your application is current. The most up-to-date version of our online application does NOT list the Supplemental Application as a required element. We have integrated this form as three separate questions in the online application (Faculty Match, Financial Support, and McNair). If you see these three questions, then you are using the correct application. New for 2009 admissions, we will no longer accept paper application materials, except for your official transcripts. Everything else, such as your written statements, letters of recommendation, etc., will only be accepted online, as uploaded into your online UW Graduate School Application. We will only accept your official, unopened paper transcripts via postal service mail. Please consider this information as you prepare your application.

Save the date: The Psychology Department application deadline for the 2009-2010 academic year is December 15, 2008.

Quick Tips (10/29/08):
1) International students who miss the November 1 deadline can still apply, as long as the materials are submitted online and postmarked by December 15.
2) Everyone must complete both the uploaded unofficial online transcripts section and request unopened official paper transcripts to be mailed to the department (and Graduate School if international applicant).

Graduate studies in Psychology at the University of Washington are designed for students interested in a science and research-oriented program. Please read all information carefully before applying to determine whether our program is the right program for you, including a list of frequently asked questions. You may also find some of the information for current graduate students and admissions statistics helpful as you make your decision.
