Resources for New Graduate Students

Welcome to the University of Washington! Think of me as your go-to person for matters large and small at the UW Libraries. I look forward to working with you!

I work to support graduate students as students, researchers, and teachers.

As Students and Researchers

  • I can meet with you in person and via email/phone/IM to support your research needs (e.g. finding and using research tools, locating hard-to-find items).
  • You can send me your requests for books and journals that you would like added to the Libraries collections, and I will purchase them as my budget allows.
  • I can collaborate with your instructors to create online tools and to conduct classes to support your coursework.

As Teaching Assistants

  • I can conduct in-class workshops for your students to teach the skills they need for their assignments and projects.
  • I can create course-specific webguides for your classes to help your students navigate and use the UW Libraries many resources.
  • You can refer your students to me individually or in groups for specialized assistance.

I'd like to help you take full advantage of the many services available to you at the UW Libraries. Here are some pointers.

Starting points on the UW Libraries homepage

  • Resources by Subject: These pages provide access to research tools organized by discipline. They provide great suggestions for starting points in various subjects, including Psychology.
  • Your Library Account: Login to your account to renew materials online, setup or change your PIN, have items delivered to one convenient location, and much more.
  • Services for Graduate Students: From article alert services to funding opportunities to course reserves, this page presents a wide range of services available to you.
