Psychology 496 Undergraduate Teaching Experience

Psychology 496, Undergraduate Teaching Experience, provides opportunities for upper-division students to act as peer tutors or assistants in quiz sections and labs in psychology courses. They are expected to have successfully completed the course in which they tutor and to complete training.

In order to complete a Psych 496, the faculty member must agree to take on the student as a peer tutor/teacher. Usually a student will contact the appropriate faculty member before the quarter begins to discuss this possibility. Once a facutly member has agreed, the student will get a psych registration card from the front desk of the Psychology Main Office in 119A Guthrie Hall. The student will then take the card to the faculty member and ask for a signature. Once signed, the student will exchange their card for an add code at the front desk.

Peer tutors may receive two or three credits for each quarter, with a maximum of six credits. Credit will be granted on a credit/no credit basis only.
