Short Project Description

Did you know that over 20% of American adults are either immigrants or the children of immigrants? This represents a significant demographic and cultural change in the US. However, very little is understood about how changing cultural environments impact individual identity, emotional behavior, and mental health outcomes. This study examines the role of socioeconomic status, ethnic identity, acculturation, and family conflict in determining stress outcomes among first- and second-generation Americans.
