Short Project Description

Participate in the early stages of intervention development and delivery! Dr. Katz is currently launching an Emotion Coaching intervention for mothers and children exposed to domestic violence. The intervention is a 12-week, group-based program focusing on increasing three emotion-related skills in mothers: (1) Emotion Awareness, (2) Emotion Regulation, and (3) Emotion Coaching. The emotion coaching parenting program includes aspects of cognitive-behavioral therapy, parent training, and mindfulness training. We are looking for 499_s to work on several areas of the intervention. Opportunities include: 1) Assisting with the parenting program sessions, including set-up and child care 2) Assisting with physiological data collection & off-campus research visits 3) Working on a behavior coding team that will code emotional expressions during a parent _child interaction 4) Working on a therapy session coding team that will evaluate group therapy sessions All 499 tasks may also involve data entry and library research.
