Weekly supervision by direct supervisor: All new 499 students are required to participate in a weekly seminar in which students are taught about the research at the Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics (BRTC) and various other issues related to psychology research. In addition, students meet regularly with supervisors to discuss their tasks and how they relate to the overall research projects.

Short Project Description

We are interested in motivated Psych 499 students to assist with our studies focused on evaluating treatments for suicidal behaviors, personality disorders and drug dependence. Interns are typically supervised by one post-doctoral fellow, and duties involve observing and transcribing therapy sessions, attending a once-per-week seminar on research, literature review, assistance with preparation of manuscripts for journals, data management and other tasks.

Times a student must bepresent/work: Must be available on Wednesdays from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. for the weekly DBT seminar, otherwise flexible. Evenings and weekends with permission.

Skills / Experience Preferred

We are looking for highly motivated students who are interested in pursuing graduate training in psychology and other related mental health fields. This 499 opportunity would provide training in a variety of areas relevant to psychology and would also provide great experiences for those interested in statistics, research and psychotherapy.
