Learning Goals for Psych 447: Psychology of Language

Learning Goals:

The main aim of this class is to develop an understanding of language as a psychological and biological phenomenon.

Other goals represent skills or knowledge that are prerequisites to this main goal, including an understanding of (1) current research methods; (2) how language differs from the communicative systems of other species, and (3) the origins of language, with respect to both phylogeny and ontogeny.

The writing component will help students learn to write with precision and concision.
