Departmental Learning Goals for PSYCH 471: Applied Issues in Cognition

Susan Joslyn

  1. The student will understand the relevance of cognitive issues in the real world settings such as the workplace and in education.
  2. The student will understand the methods and techniques used to study cognition "in the wild" and how they differ from the method used in controlled laboratory settings.
  3. The student will identify a particular relevant real world issue and adapt and apply such techniques to study it.
  4. The student will analyze and present the results of their study.
  5. The student will write a written report of that study using scientific writing style.
