New Directions
The LEARN Clinic provides both comprehensive and brief assessments of children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing difficulties. In addition, the LEARN Clinic offers evaluations for giftedness and kindergarten readiness. Evaluations typically include initial interviews followed by one-to-one testing with the child, adolescent or adult. Assessment materials are chosen specifically to address the areas of concern and may include cognitive, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological tests. Following the evaluation, a conference with held to discuss the results of the evaluation and relevant recommendations and is then followed by a detailed report mailed to the client. In addition, consultations and/or follow-up services may be offered.
Examples of questions or problems that might be addressed by an evaluation at the LEARN Clinic are:
- Specific learning disorders such as:
- Reading disorders
- Mathematics disorders
- Disorders of written expression
